§  Manage and Supervise Office Operations including: scheduling, billing, therapy supervision, meeting new families, meeting with physicians, leading all staff meetings, training new staff and daily problem solving.

§       Facilitate assessment, one on one therapy and leading small groups for children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Sensory Integration Disorder, ADHD, etc.

§  Training new staff and outside professionals how to work with children with Autism using the techniques:  PROMPT and Verbal Behaviour.

§  Manage and Supervise a team of 15 Speech Language Pathologists, 2 Occupational Therapists and 4 Support/ Admin staff.

§      Directed this group to perform by signing to music for the following events/ people:  Macy’s Day Parade 1993, 1997 & 1998, Pope’s visit to Baltimore, White House for President Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton, Peter Paul & Mary Concert, Marie Osborne, Judy Collins, various local TV. stations..

§  Helped children find ethnic costumes to wear during performance. Every child represented a different country by dressing in ethnic costumes from around the world.

§  Chose specific songs for the group to sign/ perform to that sent the message of Love, diversity, Friendship and Acceptance

§  PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) certified since January 2004. This is a multidimensional, multi-sensory therapeutic system that is holistic and dynamic.  This technique is used with children who have Apraxia.  www.promptinstitute.com

§  June - August 1995, volunteer camp counsellor and sign language teacher for a Paul Newman’s camp for terminally-ill children at Barretstown Gang Camp in Ireland.

§  June - August 1997, volunteer camp counsellor for a Paul Newman’s camp for terminally-ill children at Double H Hole in the Woods camp at Lake Luzerne, NY.

§  June -August1996 & December-February 1997, White House Intern/ Volunteer in the Social Office in the East Wing for President Clinton.

§  Every year a team at Communication Matters (lead by Kellie Caruso) volunteers for the Walk FAR for NAAR in the July and volunteers for the Autism Jubilee Farm event in August.

 

INTERESTS
